Dance in China has existed for thousands of years and is renowned as one of the most intricate cultures of dance around the world. Like many forms of Western dance, Chinese dance has evolved constantly throughout the centuries and takes from many different influences.
This video was taken at the Xiaopei Chinese Dance Camp in 2013. It starts out as what appears to be a ballerina practice, but it instantly turns into so much more. The moves themselves are a creative blend of traditional Chinese choreography but with a slightly Western influence.
Words just don’t do the performance justice – the level of strength, coordination, balance, agility, and flexibility of these dancers are out of this world.
Their teamwork is splendid, isn’t it?
